GEO Score — Privacy Policy
Effective 13 July 2026 · applies to the GEO Score browser extension and its backend at geo-score.kresnobw.workers.dev
The short version
- Page analysis runs entirely on your device. The pages you visit, their content, and their URLs are never sent to us.
- Usage statistics are off by default. If you opt in, we receive only anonymous score ranges and feature counts — never URLs, domains, or page content.
- We show no ads, set no tracking cookies, and never sell data.
What the extension does
GEO Score has a single purpose: when you click Analyze, it audits the page open in your
current tab for Generative Engine Optimization (how well AI answer engines can crawl, understand,
and cite it). To do that it reads the page in your browser and fetches a few standard files
(robots.txt, llms.txt, sitemap.xml, the page's raw HTML)
directly from the analyzed website — those requests go from your browser to that
site, not to us. Results, score history, and settings are stored locally in your browser.
When the extension contacts our server
- Settings check: the extension periodically downloads a signed configuration file
(prices, feature switches). This request carries no personal data and no information about the pages
you analyze.
- Anonymous statistics (opt-in only): if you enable "Share anonymous usage
statistics", the extension sends at most one small report per hour containing: a random install
identifier (not linked to your identity, e-mail, or Google account), extension version, browser
language, score ranges (e.g. "50–89", never exact scores), category scores rounded to the
nearest 10, and counts of which features were used. Never URLs, domains, page content, titles, or
search terms. These records are anonymous — we could not identify or extract yours on request.
They are stored in Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine and expire automatically (about 90 days).
- License check (paid tier only): if you enter a license key, the key is sent to
our server, which forwards it to the payment vendor to confirm it is valid. Our server does not
store the key. The extension keeps it in your local browser storage because periodic re-verification
requires it.
- Like virtually every web service, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) sees connection metadata
such as your IP address while handling a request. We use it only in memory for rate limiting and
do not store it in our statistics.
Payments
Purchases are processed entirely by the payment vendor (e.g. Gumroad) on their site under their
privacy policy. We never see your card number or billing details.
Your choices
- Statistics sharing can be turned on or off any time in the extension's Settings.
- Per-site access is granted one site at a time, only when you click Analyze, and can be reviewed
or revoked at
chrome://extensions → GEO Score → Details → Site access.
- Tab following (optional): if you enable it, the side panel reads the current tab's address —
on your device only — to keep its display in sync as you switch tabs. Addresses seen this way are
never stored, logged, or transmitted. Decline it and the panel simply updates only for sites you
have granted.
- Uninstalling the extension deletes all locally stored data (results, history, settings, license).
Children
GEO Score is a developer/publisher tool and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with an updated
effective date.
